NTNU - knowledge for a better world
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) creates knowledge for a better world and solutions that can change everyday life.
Internship in the NTNU Brussels Office
NTNU has high ambitions for international cooperation in general and specifically for participation in European research and innovation programmes. The goal is to double the university’s funding from Horizon 2020 as compared to Framework Programme 7.
NTNU has support services in place for research groups applying for European funding. All faculties have EU advisors and there are specialized personnel for financial matters, contracts and IPR, as well as strategy and policy. NTNU also has favourable incentives for groups that participate in European-funded research and innovation projects.
To add to the University’s support for research groups seeking European funding, in 2016 NTNU established a Brussels Office. The Office is permanently staffed by the Head of Office. In addition, NTNU employees can spend periods at the NTNU Brussels Office using the guest office space.
The goal is for NTNU research groups to get involved in a larger number of European research and innovation projects, especially in selected strategic areas where NTNU has a strong competence base and clear links to the EU research and policy agenda.
An internship position is being established at the NTNU Brussels Office to strengthen the support of NTNU researchers and research groups seeking European funding.
The main task of the Brussels Office is to assist and advise NTNU research groups in actively participating in European research through long-term positioning, systematic participation in the European research arena, building networks and partnerships, participating in relevant platforms and alliances, setting up consortia and developing proposals.

We are looking for a person with a strong interest for and/or experience from European research and innovation policy and programmes.
Knowledge about the European funding instruments and policies, previous work experience from Brussels as well as an existing European or Brussels networks is an advantage, but not mandatory.
The person we are looking for should have strong cooperation and communication skills and be able to work independently, pro-actively and in a goal-oriented way to contribute to the ambitious goals of NTNU in Horizon 2020.
The person should also have the ability to work closely with NTNU research groups as well as the local support services.
Networking skills and the ability to set up and sustain contacts with European public and private actors involved in European research and innovation are important.
The person we are looking for must be fluent in English.
The selected person will have to provide availability for a passage of duties with the current NTNU Intern operating in the office to guarantee continuity in on-going activities.
