The Department of Economics is the largest and highest ranked institute for economic research in Norway. The Department offers Bachelor's and Masters's programmes, as well as a doctoral programme with approximately 40 students. The department hosts a Centre for the study of Equality, Social Organization and Performance (ESOP) and a Centre for Public Economics, Oslo Fiscal Studies (OFS).
Tenure-track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Tenured Associate Professor in Economics – 1 position
The Department of Economics invites applicants for one tenure-track position (Assistant or Associate Professor) or one position as tenured Associate professor. The opening is for a general research position including teaching and administrative duties. The position is open for all areas in economics and finance. The Department would like to strengthen its competence within econometrics, macro, applied economics, labor, finance and empirical IO, and we especially encourage candidates with a background in these areas to apply.
At The University of Oslo, Associate Professors with tenure may apply for promotion to full Professor based on academic qualifications.
We are looking for a senior economist for the tenured position, or a younger candidate who has achieved a PhD degree no earlier than 2013 for the tenure-track position. For the tenure-track Assistant position we are looking for economists with expected completion of PhD no later than August 2018. Candidates who have been employed in a research position for more than one year, should apply for a tenure-track position as Associate Professor or a tenured position.
The assessment of applicants is based on scientific merits, teaching, research leadership, administrative experience and personal qualities, as well as the Department's teaching obligations and long-term academic development.
- A starting pay of NOK 600 200 - 792 700, depending on level of competence
