Artistic Research Fellowships
The Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design (KMD) at the University of Bergen (UiB) has vacancies for Artistic Research Fellowships (100 %). The faculty has approximately 600 students and 180 staff. It offers research-based programmes at bachelor, master and PhD level.
The Faculty contributes to knowledge through academic and artistic research, and in an ambitious, quality focused, international environment it educates artists, designers, musicians, composers, music therapists, music and art teachers, musicologists and curators. We collaborate with relevant local, national and international institutions.
The following applies to the research fellowships:
The fellowships are for a fixed term of four years, including 25% mandatory duties. The mandatory duties can consist of teaching, exam work or supervision, depending on the Faculty's needs.
The fellowships will be affiliated to the department most relevant to the project, Department of Design, the Department of Fine Art or the Grieg Academy - Department of Music.
Research Fellows are as well to be affiliated to the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme, which is the National Artistic Research School and researchers' training programme. UiB is working on establishing a new PhD programme in artistic research, which will further strengthen the research environment at the faculty.

The project description:
The project description should place the project in a discipline/research field and describe the topics, context, method, research questions /themes and choice of work methods and form/s of dissemination. The project description should address the project's position in and relevance to the institution's academic environment, and describe any special needs for artistic or material resources, as well as any legal or ethical issues, and provide information about potential institutional partners and collaborators. Applicants must have a master's degree in art, music or design, or an equivalent education from abroad. The degree must be completed before the final date for applications.
We are looking for open-minded, ambitious candidates with good communication and cooperation skills. You must have the ability to build good relations, cooperate and communicate.
We can offer:
Salary in pay grade 50 on the pay scale for state employees upon appointment. That corresponds to an annual salary of NOK 436,900. Further salary increases are based on length of service in the position.
