The University of Stavanger (UiS) has about 11,000 students and 1,600 employees. The University is located in the third largest urban region in Norway, with a dynamic labor market and exciting cultural and leisure activities. Department of Risk Management, Societal Safety, Industrial Economics and Planning is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology. The department carries out research and offers study programs at all levels within Risk Management and Societal Safety, Industrial Economics and Development and Urban Design. Risk Management and Societal Safety are priority areas of the university. Our goal is to be an international leading research environment in the field. The department participates in SEROS - Centre for Risk Management and Societal Safety, which is an interdisciplinary research center in the field. There are currently 45 employees including research fellows and postdocs, and 290 students at the department.
