VID Specialized University is a private, accredited specialized university. VID was established on January 1 2016 after the merger between four Norwegian institutions: Diakonhjemmet University College, Haraldsplass Deaconess University College, Betanien University College and MHS – School of Mission and Theology. The objective is to offer higher education and conduct research within Health- and Social Sciences, Pedagogy, Management, Diakonia and Theology.
VID has approximately 3500 students, 300 employees and campuses in Bergen, Oslo, Sandnes and Stavanger. The University, which offers 50 different study programmes at Bachelor, - Master and PhD-levels, aims to transform itself into a national institution through regional cooperation.
