The University of Stavanger (UiS) has about 10,100 students and 1,400 employees. The University is located in the third largest urban region in Norway, with a dynamic labor market and exciting cultural and leisure activities. Department of Petroleum Engineering is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology. The department carries out research and offers study programs at all levels in Drilling Technology, Investment and Decision Analysis in the petroleum sector, Natural Gas Technology, Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Engineering and Reservoir Engineering. The department has established close research collaboration with the International Research Institute of Stavanger (IRIS) and the oil industry. The department focuses on internationalization, with development of English lingual study programs and high mobility among academic staff and students. There are currently 90 employees including research fellows and postdocs, and 750 students at the department.
