The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) creates knowledge for a better world and solutions that can change everyday life. On 1 January 2016, NTNU will merge with the University Colleges of Ålesund, Gjøvik and Sør-Trøndelag. The merger will give us more comprehensive educational offerings and larger research environments. Together, our four institutions will create Norway's most exciting, innovative and largest university.

CEMIR is a Centre of Excellence established in 2013 and funded for 10 years by the Norwegian Research Council. Drawing on major recent advances in the field of innate immunity and cell biology, CEMIR’s research program will detail the molecular and cell biological principles for initiation and regulation of inflammatory responses through the use of basic research, in vitro- and in vivo models and unique biobanks. See http://www.ntnu.edu/cemir for detailed information.

The Faculty of medicine at NTNU achieved the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2014. We host excellent research communities and CEMIR is one of them.
