NTNU is Norway’s second largest university with 23 000 students and 5 000 employees. The University has a national responsibility for research and education in technology and a main profile in technology and the natural sciences, but also encompasses strong faculties in medicine, architecture, humanities and the social sciences. NTNU is about to merge with three university colleges and as of 1 January 2016 it will be the largest university in Norway with 37 000 students and 6 500 employees.
